The Latah Recovery Center, Inc. (The Center) in Moscow, Idaho invites artists at all stages of their careers to apply for the Latah Recovery Center’s Artist in Residence (AIR). The Center is a private, nonprofit organization serving people who are in recovery from addiction and mental health disorders. The Center seeks artists whose work can aide and amplify the voice for those in recovery.
The residency includes a solo exhibition and reception at the conclusion of the 12-week period. The AIR is expected to become familiar with The Center and the community it supports and is encouraged, but not required, to maintain a regular presence at The Center.
The Center is a partnership between people in recovery, family members, allies and local organizations who respect the dignity and equality of all people and who are dedicated to promoting healthy communities. During the 12-week residency, the AIR will be expected to engage the community in at least one art-making activity aligned with the AIR’s skills and interests and The Center’s mission.
The Center provides:
• $500 stipend
• workspace, materials and equipment related to the AIR’s community art-making activity
• solo exhibition and public reception
• press and radio promotion

The Center does not provide:
• housing
• private studio space
• transportation
