Application deadline: May 13th, 2022, Midnight Pacific Daylight Time for the
second AIR residency. The third residency deadline will be on going until the
residency is filled.
The Latah Recovery Center, Inc. (The Center) in Moscow, Idaho invites artists at
all stages of their careers to apply for the Latah Recovery Community Center’s
Artist in Residence (AIR). The Center is a private, nonprofit organization serving
people who are in recovery from addiction and mental health disorders. The
Center seeks artists whose work can aide and amplify the voice for those in
recovery.
This year, three (3) residencies will be awarded and will span three, 3-month
periods starting in March 2022 and ending in November 2022.
The residencies will include individual solo exhibitions and receptions at the
conclusion of each 12-week period. The AIR is expected to become familiar with
The Center and the community it supports and is encouraged, but not required,
to maintain a regular presence at The Center.
The Center is a partnership between people in recovery, family members, allies
and local organizations who respect the dignity and equality of all people and
who are dedicated to promoting healthy communities. During the 12-week
residency, the AIR will be expected to engage the community in at least three (3)
art-making activities aligned with the AIR’s skills and interests and The Center’s
mission.
The Center provides:
$500 stipend
workspace, materials and equipment related to the AIR’s community artmaking activity
solo exhibition and public reception at the Latah Recovery Center
press and radio promotion
The Center does not provide:
housing
private studio space
transportation
